Self-Grading Final Game

USAGE OF:

• [x] Screen Design: creative start + game over (Maryam personally designed) screen appearance, and usage of practical structure for game
• [x] Animations: Animated coyote coming from the top of the screen
• [x] JavaScript + OOP integration: We used different js files for each object in order and pulled them all into one file to create our final game
• [x] Agile Methodology: Our plans were based on how the game would have to develop (basic -> specific elements) and we assigned based on personal level of skill, previous experience, and capability

• All the following elements are proving by the fact they're present in the game:
• Creative background (another planet that is dominated by coyotes and chickens)
• Playing character: A chicken that wills itself left and right that also shoots projectiles (eggs)
• Non playing character: The animated coyotes
• Platform: ground beneath the chicken

• We have issues (w/ reflections) and a game plan on Canva that describes the steps we've been taking
• We have copies of files with our old code with comments that describe certain steps we've taken to achieve small steps

VALUE: (Most important thing gained from doing this project, i.e. skill(s), lesson(s)) Points: 0.6-1.0 Reason + Evidence:

• In terms of code, we learned how to structure js files and bring them together with integration to have game objects do their own thing and also interact with each other
• In terms of team work, we learned to collaborate and reflect honestly with each other to reach an end goal through assigning tasks, working together on similar files with liveshare, and yelling at our code together :)

WOW FACTOR: (what makes this interesting/cool) Reason + Evidence:

• The game concept is a creative and extremely unique take on space invaders with modifications
• We have interesting lore as well that adds to the game's wow factor

KNOWLEDGE: 3.8 Points: 3.6-4.0 Reason: Seemed like seasoned coders, incorporated OOP, had multiple minigames within larger game but some code was broken.

VALUE: 0.9 Points: 0.6-1.0 Reason: Very interesting concept, liked the eggs shooting out of the chickens + "seizure" feature.

WOW FACTOR: Reason: Design was very futuristic while building off of teacher's code. Very interesting and entertaining end cards

HOOK: 3.9 Points: 3.6-4 Reasons: Shared multiple different parts of their game. Showed a lot of promise of being quite great in the future, they just didn't have enough time to combine it all together. Shared a lot of ideas; definitely a creative group.

Knowledge: 3.8 Points: 3.6-4 Reason: Used OOP, explained different parts of code well when prompted, coded many different ideas, though much of that code wasn't in the final project. Only criticism I have is they spent more time showing their game than the actual logic behind the code & how much of the game was still incomplete due to merging issues.

Value: 0.9 Points: 0-1

WOW FACTOR: Reason: Visually appealing, fun introduction & fun ending.

HOOK: 3.9 Points: 3.6-4.0 Reason: Really cool front page overall, well-designed, and exciting presentation.

KNOWLEDGE: 3.9 Points: 3.6-4.0 Reason: initially had problems showing content on the monitor, but fixed the issue later on. Great job showing the backend code on another computer. Knew what they were talking about despite minor issues.

VALUE: 0.9 Points: 0.6-1.0 Reason: I thought it was really entertaining, especially with the chickens shooting eggs, and the feature where they would spin in place after hitting a coyote.

WOW FACTOR:4 Reason: Really cool design - I loved the different characters for the chickens and the pixelated eggs.
