Roger,
I now recall the reason why the rules reflected the VSD pumps as children of
the return FluidSeg, not the chiller/boiler. IF you import this model into OS
via the last package Kyle distributed, you'll see a warning logged:
Warning: Variable speed branch pumps are unsupported
Sorry that this did not immediately come to my memory last we talked, and I did
not follow-up with Kyle to confirm why this was not supported, even though the
OSM reflects Pump:VariableSpeed on the ChW loop. Perhaps this warning is no
longer valid, or only pertinent to CW loops.
Kyle, can you confirm:
1) status of simulating VariableSpeed branch pumps
2) status of translating branch pumps in general for CW systems?
Basically, we are looking for the representation shown in the attached picture.
I know I did not give you an example of this in our last round of hydronic
piping updates, but we are trying to follow the latest ACM rules of one CW pump
per chiller. I didn't think this would work since it violates the rule of a
Pump being first object defined on PlantLoop.
Since there is 1:1 count of Chlr:HtRej objects, the second option of having a
pump on the CT branch might work. This is what Roger's SDD XML file describes.
Finally, Roger, was it intentional for HtRej:Pump:SpdCtrl = VariableSpeed?

Variable speed is what I put in the rule, but I just checked the ACM and the CW
pumps should be constant speed. I'll revise the rules. Let me know if this is
a problem for the translation, and I can provide a revised xml file.

Kyle, I'm still not getting a condenser water pump. Is this not yet fixed?

Roger, the 401 instances currently in the subversion repository do not appear
to have pumps as children of the <HtRej> tag. I could use an example file
after all.

I just committed updated xml files for 401. The bz.xml has the proper pump
configuration. b.xml may not be any good because the bz run errored out.

Thanks. I just made required changes and will use that as a test.
