90.1 - Effective Insulation Framing RValues for Roof / Floor #852

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 9 years ago

Supriya and Mike,

Table A9.2A in 90.1-2010 (see attached) is specific to steel joist framing that
is spaced 4 ft on center.

Should we use these same floor and roof Correction Factors for 16, 24 and 36
inches on center steel framing?

Noah

I am not sure. Does T24 have values for other than 4-feet O.C.?

The T24 look-up table for Composite materials only supports 16in and 24in O.C.

We clarified this with the envelope subcommittee, Table A9.2-1 is intended to
be used for all spacing categories (16", 2', 3')

Email from ESC-
In terms of Sections A2-A8, the 4-foot spacing was deemed to be so predominant
that it was not necessary to have another set of values (in contrast to
metal-stud walls where it was important to have values for 16-inch and 24-inch
on center), and in terms of Section A9, it was important that calculations for
assemblies that were not considered to be adequately represented in Sections
A2-A8 to be done using the same assumptions as the values in Sections A2-A8.
