CBECC-Com Issue - Project/Site Information #855

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
Version = 2013_3_653

Category = Project/Site Information

Issue Summary:
List the steps taken to produce the error. For example:

1.      Open the file

2. Change Building Story 2 Story Multiplier from 8 to 1.

3. Notice that the High Rise CZ12 Baseline cond ft2 doesn’t change.

4. Change building story 2 back to 8

5. Still not change in whole building area.

Another issue:

1. Run the analysis of this model

2.      161 errors generated

3. First error I find in the *.log file is “Error setting rule data:
Unable to find object 'BaseSHWPrimSupSeg' (DBID=17129001, Occur=8)”

4. Service hot water segment exists in the Mechanical system tab.

5.      I don’t understand this error.

6. I’ve tried to create a service hot water and recirc hot water system
to serve the 1 office space of this high rise multifamily model and nothing
works.

There are 3 issues that I see in your model:

1. For the Office Service Water system you have a FluidSys:Type = “Return”.
 That FluidSys:Type should be = “MakeupFluid” with the Source =
“MunicipalWater”.
2. You have floor multipliers set on the Envelope tab but you do not have any
system multipliers on the Mechanical tab. This may cause some sizing or flow
rate errors where a system is serving a space with a floor multiplier.
3. The latest version of CBECC-Com (v3a) will have the building floor area
calculation error that you are seeing fixed. This bug should not change your
compliance margin once you get the model to simulate.
