youtube not working #77

hello so I just installed my pi-hole on my network and I have whitelisted the s.youtube.com. I am running into the issue of the videos not loading and it keeps on trying to load the video. Any help would be appreciated.

Lately It feels like every single youtube video loads with native ads (for me only swedish ads), videos loads then stops, videos that wont start at all.

I had the issue of youtube videos not playing as well (both ads and videos)

I have videos load and play to an ad, the ad doesn't load but the video never starts again. How can we uninstall this?

recently located this site https://www.sunshine.it/blacklist.txt

from here which I am also testing out, works pretty handy so far even thou its been archived. https://github.com/foae/pihole-youtube-block <- really easy getting it to work with docker even thou someone had an issue with it resulting no solution to post.

@kboghdady Ive had that issue too from time to time, sometimes have those 2 enable sometimes works until something breaks which in the end i would have to scratch everything including the added links to blacklist.

Foe me eth same, no addsnor youtube video no nothing plays with this list :)

Yea, same. added a few more links here. https://github.com/kboghdady/youTube_ads_4_pi-hole/issues/80

But now, even today, i still have them off, yea can try them out if yea like.

atm, I have directed my pihole to my AdGuard_Home to my unbound server with a few different links and added some on my own through AdGuard Home. Every now n then, pc/tv displayed video ads but not as much. Tested a few times throu private mode, 8/10 no video ad without any adblockers or the AdGuard exe program on pc. I go in and out every so often to bypass video ads on my tv. Sometimes its 3secs and cuts half the recess ads. So whatever I'm adding, its working without any input of googlevideo to the blacklist.

Thats interesting, I doindt kew adguard home,. Is there also something like UBLock but for teh whole network or atleast before a smart TV :) Isn't adguard alone sufficient to filter youtube ads or why do we still need pihole Maybe we could chat somehwre else about that topic, since it doent belonginto that topichere ? discord ? telegram ? facebook ?

@daslicht I'm not sure of for ublock, haven't scaward from there yet, anything is possible at this point. Just adguard alone from the plugin or exe itself is suitable on a pc to remove all youtube ads, yes. But from the network alone? that's the hard part apart from Aguard_Home. They may use the same source but i think they have different functions at play.

the crowed list seem to start the problem. With only the youtubelist.txt activated everything works just fine
