From what I remember, when we first developed the database, we'd intended to use Aspects to comment on the "look" of the handwriting, e.g. elongated, slanted, compressed, and Appearance was for the stylistic appearance, e.g. scribbled, transitional, glossed, square. But we ended up not using Aspects and Appearance. We "misused" Aspects in the Models of Authority project to add the function "Position" (but that's a fudge: ideally, we would have added an official option for Position to the database); for an example of that, see [Hi! I don't find any documentation about the meaning and usage of Aspects and Appearance under Descriptor. I would like to know if they may be useful for my case.
