Not seeing Subtitles on VOB files #36

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 9 years ago

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Rip using DVD Shrink or other DVD ripping software.
2. Include at least one subtitle choice (I usually only select just English
to save file size)
3. During playback, pressing "Aspect" on the remote shows a little yellow
icon, giving the impression no subtitles were found.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

Would have expected to see the subtitles toggle through each selection.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

Windows 7 media center, Streambaby 0.27

Please provide any additional information below.

StreamBaby will not ready the subtitles in the binary formats out of
VOBs/MPeg2s.
You must convert the subtitle to SRT format and place in the same directory as
the
video for StreamBaby to play it.

Should subtitles embedded in an mkv work, if they are in .ass format? Since
right now they are not on my system.

They don't seem to be working for me. Here is a sample .mkv file with
subtitles inside the container. In VLC the subtitles will play fine on the
computer serving the videos.

I'm using a Windows x 64 Ultimate serving to 2 different Tivo Premiere.

Here is a sample video, if you need one:
