Continuous data: either viridis or magma from the viridis package

I couldn’t open this link because of firewalls but I’ve looked up viridis and magma in general – my preference is Viridis, please.

Qualitative/categorical palettes - map focused colorblind-safe qualitative palette

This opens up with the third from the left selected, I like it, green to blue (I’ve pasted a screenshot below to ensure we’re looking at the same thing)

Overall app theme/colors - take your pick from one of the available bootswatch themes. If nothing is spot-on, we can tweak using these themes as a starting point

This was less obvious – many of them seem to go through reds and greens and blues, but I suppose this is less crucial to get colourblind-friendly as it’s not plotting of data (I think). Are these easy to change? So much choice, I doubt we’ll need you to tweak them. I feel as though it’s tricky to chose one now, but my preferences are for the more muted tones, given the choices above, so tending away from the primary colour ones.

For example, I like: Cerulean, Lux,

I quite like the dark ones too – solar, darkly, cyborg, slate

I think given the info above (more muted, less primary) I’ll give you some artistic license and see what you think looks good with the colour palettes for data plotting (the latter are our priority to get spot on).

Tried out cerulean. Header looks good but not so the UI inputs. Need to ask Keaton how to tweak, or perhaps try one of the dark ones.
