Suppose you want to do the following:

You have a bunch of syllables. A syllable is the basic unit of a word. A word is made of syllables. A syllable has a proper grammar.
You have a large dictionary of good words.
You want to create a set of words that are covered by those syllables. The number of syllables should be specifiable.

Thus, an output of this activity could be a mapping between a set of syllables and a set of words (which is a subset of the dictionary).
