We released visual tips on Kedro-Viz #1180 in August 2023. This improved discovery of the highlighted features.

The next steps are:

Update 'Publish and share Kedro-Viz' text - You can publish Kedro-Viz and share it with others by hosting your project on Amazon S3 - add Azure and GCP
Add new features in order of priority:

Pipeline registry option on the top left
Show/Hide Layers
Expand all modular pipelines (when it is moved to the flowchart from the setting panel #1752)

Backlog grooming notes:

Feature hints vs onboarding experience #1646 Onboarding - shown once at the beginning for users. Feature hint - highlight new features we've built, improvements to existing features. Should be specifically timed.

We shouldn't combine/confuse these two.

@stephkaiser to rewrite and update this ticket.

to include to the release guideline. Topic to discuss before the release:

how many features we should highlight to the users?
idea: can we combine with the release highlight panel, eg: "see what's news" etc?
