It is not clear whether the predictions on the training data are out of bag 
(OOB) predictions, or not.

sorry, apparently the results are from gradient boosting trees, not from the 
random forests.

I consider this one resolved since print-outs, albeit not very thorough, about 
OOB error have been added.
