Alert window transparency in MSC.app #343

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Launching MSU.app when there is no connectivity to Munki server

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
It is a little difficult to see the text in alert window if underlaying content
has elements with high contrast.

What version of the Munki tools/InstallOSpkg tools are you using? On what
version of OS X?
MSC 4.0.2071 (2071) on OS X 10.9

Please provide any additional information below.
The alert window(s) should have lower transparency so that the actual message
content in alert window can be seen.

This is all part of Apple's GUI frameworks; I'm not aware of any control an app
author has here. The app displays an alert sheet; it does not set any specific
transparency level.

Do you have a screenshot showing the issue?

Seems readable enough if not ideal. Again, since Apple really offers no control
that I am aware of, this is really an Apple issue that we probably can't do
much about. A local admin that was concerned about this issue could make
different choices about banner images to mitigate it somewhat.

Fair enough.
So it is up to MSC admin to provide suitable banners with not too much
intrusive content.
