Is Vimeo player altogether incompatible with mac os 10.5.8? #288

I would like to be able to watch videos through vimeo on my mac os 10.5.8 so I 
installed tenfourfox web browser but to no avail. Vimeo still says my setup 
falls short. Any ideas?

In answer to your question, the reason why Vimeo does not work directly on 
!TenFourFox is because there is no built-in H.264 decoder. Previously this 
functioned because Vimeo would use a Flash fallback, but we do not support 
Flash, and have not since version 6.0. If you have a Vimeo account and the 
video allows it, you can download the video. Certain Firefox addons, most of 
which will work with this browser, will also let you download the video.

An H.264 decoder is part of the worklist already, but it is a large task, and 
is not likely to be completed in the near future.
