Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

Dropdown menu rendering on this page is not working correctly on G3 & G4 7450
current as well as beta versions of tenfourfox. Works fine on Firefox 4 intel
as well as Namoroka 3.6.17 on both PPC machines. thanks pjpreilly@gmail.com

Can you be more specific about "not working correctly"? A screenshot of Fx4
Intel versus a screenshot of TenFourFox would be the most helpful. Also, please
make sure that the Intel machine is NOT using hardware acceleration.

dropdowns do not clear & just pile up. It would be easiest to compare against
firefox 3.6.x for correct operation.

One other note: I notice that the page requires Flash. If the drop down menus
are Flash-based, then they are plugins, and plugin glitches will not be fixed
unless they cause crashes or serious issues with the application. There are
known graphics glitches with Flash and they will NOT be repaired (see the
Release Notes for why).

I will investigate this further when I'm back at my workstation, but in the
meantime you might want to install Flashblock. If Flashblock hides the menus as
a Flash applet, then it is Flash-based and justifying repair will require
evidence of high enough severity.

I disabled flash plugin and loaded the page, the menu tabs are not displayed &
are flash based. Since I use this site regularly I'll be stuck using Firefox
3.6.x for now.

I will mark this as WontFix then for the time being. It may be worth asking
them to consider using a different interface than Flash (or offering a
text-based alternative), since this will also affect people with iPhones and
iPads, and the visually impaired. If you discover something else about this,
please post it to this bug and I will review it.
