Just to give some feedback, while on-boarding on app.shapeshift.com (in Firefox) with a new KeepKey for the first time (no former knowledge of having to confirm the pairing in the Desktop app) I was surprised it was taking so long... so this seems like a pretty important fix to implement for new users of KeepKey.
Not sure if it's possible to detect a first pairing from the shapeshift/web app side and prompt/inform the user to check the Desktop app, or as the Issue mention flash the window/tray icon/bring it to front. Maybe both would be nice.
