Dear luis100,

We are looking at using RODA repository as a basis for our e-archive in the Regional Government of Skåne, Sweden. We have tested the work flow of creating SIPs, ingesting them, but we cannot find any functionality to create DIPs for dissemination. Our collections are constantly accessed, what is a good way to allow access to our archived materials? I saw something called AIP2DIP, how can I use that?

Thank you for your time! Simon Alfredsson Archivist Region Skåne

@buenaventura01 DIPs are normally created by format converters as a dissemination format would normally have a different format. For example, a representation of a TIFF image would normally have a DIP in JPEG format. To create this, you need to use the converter plugins. As this highly dependent on the content and needs external dependencies (like image converters) that might include comercial licences, this feature is currently only available as commercial plugins. There is also a EARK DIP plugin that exports current AIP content into a DIP that follows the EARK IP specification (with the original or preservation file formats), but this plugin is also commercial.

To check the list of plugins currently available see the new process page in the demonstration site (username: admin, password: roda), and select the dissemination category.

There is also a plugin template available to create open source plugins. This is currently being used by contributors (some of them from Sweden) to develop plugins.
