Authentication mechanism can be google login for first time login using the application. Need not require to login everytime. step by step tutorials is available for android in developers site. We can replicate the actual API's later using the below link: https://developers.google.com/+/quickstart/android

Yup. I am also thinking about using the G+ API only. I thought of prototyping this or this implementation can be deferred later?
