question: VIM-LaTeX required? #7

I'm trying to create an environment like this. Do I need VIM-LaTeX for this to work?

No, I don't use VIM-LaTeX any more. I still use latex highlighting features, but no other vim plugins.

Thanks, keflavich. I'm new to MacVim (but slightly less-new to vim). I've always used TeXShop, but I'd prefer to use vim as my editor (and I'm willing to use MacVim).

I believe my installation via the bash script was successful, but I'm unsure how to use the shortcuts to build, view, etc. Typing ":,p" (or similar variations) in command mode in MacVim doesn't do anything. What am I doing wrong?

It's just ,p, not :,p: These are commands in normal mode, not command mode (more convenient)
