the signature box doesn't get cleared completely #29

Hi,

When some users want to clear a signature from Salesforce, it doesn’t disappear from the box’s borders. Also, the attachment linked to the signed record has a grey border. please have a look on the attached files.

Just for your information. When I log in with the same profile as the person who report the issue and with the same browser, it works correctly.

Also, is it possible to get the user to try it on a different browser?

It looks like something odd happening to the HTML5 canvas element, but I haven't seen this before and I haven't been able to reproduce it after a quick try in the latest Chrome.

Hello,

We did try with Google Chrome Version 101.0.4951.54 (Build officiel) (64 bits). We also tried with Microsoft Edge, nothing’s new.

To let you know, If we clicked on the Quick Action and the resolution was at 100%, we’d be able to clear the box correctly.

When the Zoom of the navigator’s window is on 100%, he can clear the signature box. Otherwise, he can’t.

I haven't forgotten, but I'm super busy with customer work at the moment so I haven't had a chance to look at it. it's on my list though, so when things calm down I'll be back on it.

Hi all,

I did get a chance to look into this over the weekend. Unfortunately I do not have a fix, nor will I have one unless browser technology changes.

Currently there is no consistent mechanism to determine whether a browser has been zoomed, or when a user zooms in or out on the current page. There are some attempts at this in JavaScript, but they are very fragile and break when new browser versions are released.

Therefore I shall be closing this as a "won't fix" with a workaround of ensure that the zoom level is at 100%. I will keep a note of this on the roadmap and if a browser standard for zooming is adopted I will revisit to see if I can add support.

Sorry I don't have better news.
