.ics file does not open #13

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.ics attachment in email only has option to save file to sd card
2.open "My Files", click on .ics file
3.receive message "Open File   No applications can perfrom this action"

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
expected to be aopel to open app or have it add to the calendar

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
2,1 - update 1 on Samsung SGH I897

Please provide any additional information below.

I have the same issue on a Samsung Galaxy S (Android 2.1). Not sure if the 
problem is the launcher, the 'My Files' bit or something more general.

I have this problem too on Motorola Milestone with 2.1

If I click open on a .ics attachment in email (using K-9 Mail) it only offers 
me opening it in "File Editor", "HTMLVieweer", "Quickoffice" and "Text Edit", 
not in ICS bot which is what I was expecting.

If I save the .ics to SD card and try to open it with Astro, Astro reports 
"File type ics not found"

This is using v1.4 of ICS bot

Samsung Galaxy S (Android 2.1) - I downloaded the app OI File Manager from the 
Market and ics files open correctly from its list. They do not open from My 
Files, as reported by the original contributor of this issue.

I also had to use the OI File Manager application to select the downloaded ICS 
file.  The OI File manager allowed me to select ICSBot to open the file.

Neither Astro File Manager, or Root Explorer would allow me to select ICSBot to 
open the file.

It seems the ICSBot application needs to associate itself with the ICS 
extension.

Astro will allow you to add a new extension. Add it with application/ics and 
this will fix it. Development of this project has moved. Please checkout
