Keep Trying option - dialogue may reappear more frequently than every twenty seconds #193

At the tail end of my most recent test under MacFusion issue_25
<http://code.google.com/p/macfusion/issues/detail?id=25#c19>
(full details of that Word-oriented test not yet added to that issue)...

Reappearance of the dialogue (and the option to Keep Trying) may be more
frequent than twenty
seconds, even when twenty seconds is the default. For example, during my test
the dialogue
appeared and was dismissed (with the Keep Trying option) at the following times:

...
11:03:30
11:03:32
11:03:50
11:03:53
11:04:11
11:04:15
11:04:31
... and so on until around 11:09.

Times are approximate ± maybe three seconds but you get the idea.

It's probably relevant to note that Word had reached a point at which

> Word failed reading from this file...

Defocusing from Word: is it sometimes expected/normal for the dialogue
to reappear at intervals of less than twenty seconds?

The alert panel appears when /any/ operation takes longer than the timeout. If
more than one operation is
"hanging" such that the timeouts overlap, you can see the dialog more
frequently than the timeout.
