you are just trying to teach IE users a lesson, aren't you.

not intentionally. I mean, it worked in IE7, I though they’d have learned by then that including broken features is not wise…

I tried in IE8, it doesn’t show the background color AT ALL even though it should be able to. If IE-9 doesn’t show it either, I consider this fixed. IE-10 will probably work.

(i.e. can you test/ask the commenter to try again and recommend switching to a better browser like Firefox or Chrome)

i did both. Our commenter tried again and he says it's still black and blue.

I see. I don't have an ie machine with that version available. I would need a love session with him or her. Although his /her life would immediately improve if a docent browser would be a used.

I'll investigate a bit more, but this will take quite some time
