This is a "feature" request that came from Georgian Avalanche Association committee members. Specifically they are against having Russian language on their site. Despite the political situation, I personally don't feel like this position is justified or ethical, as it marginalizes potential users of the site on the basis of the languages that they can comprehend, and perpetuates xenophobic behaviour patterns. If one Googles "Avalanche Gudauri" and scrolls the first page of results, one quickly realises how this could be detrimental to the purpose of deploying this kind of software and the stated mission for their organisation:
For this reason I will personally not spend any time at all implementing such behaviour in the software. If Russian language, or any other language they take a disliking to gets contributed to the project, they can either choose to fork the project, or use #33 as a hack to modify the i18n selector and remove Russian language. However this does not bypass the automatic language selection on the basis of browser settings, and to stop this they can elect to fork the software and maintain it themselves, or use something else as I will not support such a "feature".
