Bugfix: Adventure Two in Diddy Kong Racing #232

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Complete the Adventure mode in DKR
2. Start a new game in Adventure Two mode
3. Drive into any track

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Instead of mirroring the original level, the screen turns orange just as in
the Adventure 1 tracks in Wii64 beta 1

What version of the product are you using? On which system and loader?
Wii64 beta 1.1

Please provide any additional information below.
I have attached a save file as I don't think you want to play through the
whole Adventure mode just to fix this issue :P

voltage.570: can you please provide your native save (i.e. .eep and .mpk) files
and
also specify which ROM you are using?

Here you got my native save.
The GoodN64 name of my rom is Diddy Kong Racing (E) (M3) (V1.0).

Thank you. We'll look into the problem.

Thanks for the quick answer. It seems as if the game uses the same level
objects for
adventure two as for adventure one, but simply mirrors them before they are
shown on
the screen (I know that because one of Rice's older video plugins didn't do the
mirroring at all), so I guess the problem lies within that mirroring process.

Does the mirror mode in Mario Kart 64 work? It uses the same technique.

@hyperhacker:
The mirror mode in MK64 doesn't necessarily use the same technique. You should
test
it and report back.

MK64's mirror mode works flawlessly. It doesn't use the same technique as some
objects (e.g. the "Mario Kart" banner) are not mirrored, while Diddy Kong Racing
mirrors everything but the HUD.
