opening up the End #4

everyone wants to be allowed into the End, and they should be. but I want the End to be a difficult place to live, kind of like the Moon in Galacticraft.

I'd like the End to be a good place for players who want a challenge to go. I want it to be difficult to sustain life and move materials to.

A couple things we could do:

  1. Do not allow players to take full inventories into the End. When they walk through a portal, their inventory will pop and drop where they stand. Another way to get items into the End will have to be created, and we will have to make sure players don't fill backpacks with backpacks and send those through.
  2. Make the player wear special armour or use special enchantments on armour to stay alive in the end. This armour will take environment damage overtime, and if the player doesn't wear the armour they will take damage as well.
  3. MythicalMobs that inhabit only the End. Just add some more variety around the place to make things cooler.
  4. Make End portals more dangerous. Perhaps an End portal will take all the player's hunger, health (save 1 full heart) and drop them into some random spot in the end with only a few items and lot of nausea, weakness, and whatever else looks cool. The player's health will regenerate after they come through the portal, because we don't to make it too annoying.
  5. Make End portals more difficult to create. Everyone can spend a few days looking for a stronghold and toss a couple ender pearls in it. That's no fun, and if gamed can be done rather quickly.

It is important to make sure that we make living in the End difficult, not annoying. We don't to make things incredibly tedious or overbearing, we just want to have the player actively working to keep themselves and their assets in living order.

Additionally, we'll have to give the end a makeover to make it look nicer. We might look into modifying the worldgenerator for the End in the Erostey plugin to create a mystical looking realm with shades of purple all around. This will have to be looked into more closely, though.
