Does this have something to do with the apostrophe in particular?
I am experiencing encoding issues with the mastodon plugin. e.g. the apostrophe in https://chaos.social/@LaF0rge/112658685032133855 (l'Iseran) is displayed as
l'Iseran. Since nobody else has reported this issue so far I assume this isn't a bug in the software but a configuration issue. Though, after reviewing available settings, I haven't found anything that would likely help. My IRC client is weechat, which displays UTF8 in other places just fine.
