Idea for colorblind users - Closest color name #127

Open ndiciero opened 5 years ago

Please consider implementing the following idea to assist colorblind users:

Display the 'closest' color name as a tooltip when hovering over a particular pixel (or say 3X3 area)

There should only be few basic color names such as red ,green, blue, yellow, orange, red, brown etc.

Thank you for your consideration.

So you would like to use it only to check what color is under cursor? It would be better to have separate extension for such functionality but I'll consider it (it may help developers too).

I have been looking for something like this as well and it doesn't seem to exist, but I noticed that when I hover over a colour, I see a small box in the bottom right corner with the hex & rgb, maybe the colour name could be added here too (the name that is now already in use) so there would be no need to click on the colour and then open the extension to see what it was?

There are colorblind users that are web developer (ex. Mark Zuckerberg) and this feature can be useful, see the name and the hex in real time can help to work without any difficult.

This is already planned, no need to convince me more :) but thanks for your update anyway. Its just hard to find some time to get to it.

Just to add my voice to this feature request...I'd love to see this feature! I already use the plugin to identify colors, but it is a bit tedious! Having the closest color name next to the cursor would be of great help. Thanks!
