Sea Rails #192

Sea Rails will be built out of lily pads and reinforced vines. They will be extendable much like Minecart Rails. However, unlike Minecart Rails these rails will only hold and ship boats around.

How realistic is that? I think a better solution would be to be able to link the self-powered boats to 2 docks, and make it go back and forth.

keplersj commented 10 years ago

Yeah, that is a better solution. I came up with this in class yesterday as a sort of quirky early game means of automation.

I'm still playing with ways of balancing it out though. For one, it will only hold a single boat boat on a track, no linked boats will work.

Because I want all 'wireless' linking mechanisms to be based in an existing game mechanic.

How about GPS?

keplersj commented 10 years ago

Like the ComputerCraft EnderNet and OpenComputers Wireless Networking?

viliml commented 10 years ago

No... I was thinking more like PneumaticCraft GPS...

keplersj commented 10 years ago

I've never played with PnumaticCraft...

viliml commented 10 years ago

It doesn't matter. Among a lot of other(actually pneumatic-related) stuff, it has a GPS item, which can store and transfer coordinates. I was thinking something like that, but maybe just be able to lik it with a Dock Controller?

Yeah! That sounds great!
