Mobile access would greatly benefit this application. The task for this issue figure how go about it. Evaluate libraries for UI and accessing the phone/tablet. What will the layout look like on the phone/tablet? Usage can be very different between desktop and mobile. Does that effect this application?

Yes it's very beneficial for users. There are many solutions for responsive in different screen size. Definitely consider it in UI design.
