hope you don't mind, the previous formatting was bugging me 😈

replaced the html links with markup
sorted out the heading hierarchy, which then allowed me to ....
added a toc (generated with a command line tool https://github.com/jonschlinkert/markdown-toc but if you don't want to install it just let me know when a new toc needs doing and i will run the readme through it)
changed the "inline" code formatting to "block"

Haha I appreciate the help! I think it looks more formal and "correct" now
