Blank window, but sort-of-working #151

As reported here (see comments on 30th November 2023 and subsequent) WhatSie suddenly and partially stopped working on ArchLinux. After login with QR code, the application presents just a blank window; however, notifications and unread message counter on the systray work as expected, so somehow it works. It just doesn't display anything. Downgrading system packages, recompiling, deleting the persistent storage did not help.

$ whatsie -b
Feature rich WhatsApp web client based on Qt WebEngine
 version: 4.14, branch: , commit: , built_at: 2023-11-30T16:48:02UTC

Qt versions: qt5-base 5.15.11+kde+r147-1 qt5-webengine 5.15.15-2

I can provide other relevant info on demand (I just don't know what else might be relevant at the moment).

This is probably fixed in 4.14.2

I've got Ubuntu 22.04.3 LTS and WhatSie 4.14.2.c478a7d installed with exactly the same issue. While the previous version was working well.

I just installed whatsie-git 4.14.2.r1.g3092158-1 from the AUR and this one works fine.

The flathub version 4.14 is showing this bug as well on Debian Trixie.

knipsi22 commented 11 months ago

Fixed for me with version 4.14.2 from Flathub
