I am currently not planning to re-create this panoramic view as other extensions already to this and probably do it much better than I could do (my UI-foo is very limited :) ). I think this would add quite a big chunk of code to conex which I would be unable to maintain properly in the long term.

The big "Manage my TabGroups" overview page was IMO the best feature of TabGroups. It allowed me to quickly skim through tabs in a group using visual cues like favicons and thumbnails. Maybe even more importantly it allowed me to easily sort tabs into different groups using drag and drop.
The Firefox default behaviour of having a looooong bar of tabs I need to slowly scroll through to find a tab, or moving a tab step by step to its desired position in order to sort them next to each other is a huge PITA. Also currently moving lots of tabs from one group / container to (multiple) others is not a very pleasant experience, neither in stock Firefox nor in Conex.
