Conex disrupt "open in background" behavior #271

Specifically once I have it enabled, middle mouse click can't open more than a single tab from the new tab's top sites.

There is more broken ... search machines do not open anymore the default nor choosen search URL but open an empty tab with the last used container type on ESR ...

bitstreamout commented 5 years ago

Also open any other link like the Preferences link in any add on does open an empty tab with last used container type

On 0.7.16 and the latest nightly of Firefox, I noticed a site I use could no longer open popup windows. It wasn't really doing anything other than window.open(). What actually happened was I got a blank tab at the front (i.e. left side) of the same container rather than the popup.

Downgrading to 0.7.13 makes it work again for me.

Damned ... thanks for the report

After disabling I see that the default behaviour of using the google container now work better as ever before. That is that now the default container is now no container for middle mouse open in an other tab. The old conex combined in with google container addon had always switched to google container which it should not IMHO (there is also a menu below right mouse to choose google or other containers for this).

0.8.0

Mmmm … so what is the exact behavior and what are your settings (ask for container vs. always open in the same container) in the conex settings? Furthermore, could you update to a version >= 0.8.3 — I realized background containers get re-opened as active containers, but I think this is not your problem.

Well 0.8.4 seems finally fine.
