Open link in a new tab sometimes is not working #320

Closed Cri85 closed 4 years ago

Hello, when I try to open a link in a new tab in the same website, sometimes I have this bug: the current tab is reloaded with the new URL and I lost the "Back" chronology (when you right-click on the back arrow button).

This happen with mouse 3 button and also with the contextual menu (right click on the link > open in new tab).

It's conex related or not? Thanks for Conex, the best firefox add-on.

Any news about this issue? Thanks

goudekid commented 4 years ago

also experienced this myself, especially on youtube

easy repro: go to youtube, open a video, middle click the youtube main page button

the tab you are in will navigate to the youtube main page and erase chronology, effectively closing your current tab and opening the new one, you can even control+shift+t to open up the one that you just lost

EDIT: misremembered some details, changed them to properly reflect repro steps

hey ... sorry for double to tripple ignoring this bug report @Cri85. I can recreate it with the steps from @goudekid, thanks for the detailed instructions. It seems to be a conex problem -- when I deactivate it, it works as expected. Pretty weird ... need to look into it.

I'm not sure if FF or Conex were updated, but this no longer occurs for me- can't repro on any site where I knew it happened.

@goudekid thanks for coming back on this. I will close this bug for now then ... if it pops up again, feel free to comment with reproducible steps and I will re-open it.

Cheers
