Android won't detect HP Pavilion ze5547wm #253

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Simply booting and choosing the top option.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
The expected output is "Detecting Android x86... Detected at <device name>"
Instead all I get is "Detecting Android x86" with continued "." until I reboot
the machine.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
2.2 "generic"
I believe my OS is irrelevant as I'm booting to the CD, however it is Windows
XP Professional.

Please provide any additional information below.
The optical drive on this machine as detected by Windows' Device Manager is:
Toshiba DVD-ROM SD-R2312.
It is placed on the secondary IDE channel, I believe.

I can give additional information upon request.

Changed to enhancement as we don't have the specific hardware to test/develop
on.

I unfortunately have the (apparently) identical problem. All of the options
have the same problem of having a continuous output of periods after "Detecting
Android x86". I am attempting to install on an HP Pavilion tx2000. It currently
has Ubuntu x64 and Windows7 x64 installed, and I am attempting to boot and/or
install from the generic live cd.

Hi, I also I can not run....or install...I'm trying to run on my HP TX2000.
Could I try to run a different image than
"android-x86-4.0-RC2-tx2500.iso"?...maybe the
"android-x86-4.0-RC2-thinkpad.iso" image could be better?...I will try, then I
tell you what I see.
