What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. just got my new router (mr3040 v2)connected to my laptop and entered
192.168.0.1 I then clicked firmware and update, selected the file and the
progress bar went to 100%.
2. I then got a message saying that the update was not successful
3. The modem seems to be bricked as i cant get anywhere with 192.168.0.1 or
192.168.1.1

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I would like to be able to login to the router, but my two computers cant
access the router after the trying to install the new router firmware

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
3040 v2 and i selected the "factory" download as my router is new.

Please provide any additional information below.
ive tried to reset by holding down the button for 20 seconds, nothing seems to
happen. Is there a way to access the router again??

Sorry for late answer, it's my fault not seeing there where more open issues.

There is a way to debrick a router but it requires a serial console (
http://wiki.openwrt.org/toh/tp-link/tl-mr3040#manual.flash.under.u-boot.serial.c
onsole ) not sure this help.
