No focus point in LV, 7d #145

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Canon 7d 2.0.3 connected through OpenWrt
2. Android 4.4 KitKat
3. LV mode

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

to be able to see and move the focus point in LV

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

0.30.30 Nexus 7 (2013) 4.4

Please provide any additional information below.

I have no focus point in LV mode, just a grid, cannot turn AF on/off (button
never turns red), toggled the button in the lower right corner (camera/lv) and
the controls stay/ nothing changes
I have uninstalled and reinstall the app through both the google play and
directly through the main page

Sorry for late answer, my fault not seeing there are more open issues.

I know about this problem. Will try to solve it.
I think in the new upcoming cross platform version is solved, not sure yet how
to do it on the current version.

So here we are 6 months later. Is this issue being worked on? Would really love
to use DLSRdashboard with my 7D and configure the AF frame.

Please try qDslrDashboard ( http://dslrdashboard.info )

Thanks, I wasn't aware of qdslrdashboard. I downloaded and installed it onto my
android phone. It's really nice but I have the same issue. No AF frame
selection. I also noticed that the AF button simply simulates a half press of
the shutter button. If I set my camera to back button focussing AF will not
work. I really don't like to switch my camera out of back button focussing just
for using it with dslrdashboard. Is there a way to activate the AF function and
not just triggering the half press of the shutter button? If you want I will
raise another issue for that topic.

It seems that dslrdashboard is more geared towards Nikon. I have been using
dslr controller with not too many issues. It is in google play

The only reason for this is that Nikon releases SDK for their DSLR while Canon
does not and I don't have money to buy every Canon DSLR to test. :(

Can I help in debugging the focus issue for the Canon 7D? If yes, please tell
me how. I'd really love to use (q)dslrdashboard with working focus frame and a
backbutton focus option. Apart from that your software is awesome, those 2
issues however make working with it a pain.
