In the list of versions we have all versions starting from the first. But we can install only starting from version 1.5.

You need to understand where you can download older versions and modify the download links depending on the version requested.

go.dev page contains only part of the versions that are presented in the repository tags.

For version 1.4, for example, our file names are different from what we expect, for example: go1.4.darwin-amd64-osx10.8.pkg

First available version for installation go1.2.2. Next 1.3, 1.3.1, 1.3.2, 1.3.3, 1.4, 1.4.1, 1.4.2, 1.4.3.

Versions not available for download: 1.0.1, 1.0.2, 1.0.3, 1.1.0 1.1.1 1.1.2, 1.2.0, 1.2.1

There are 2 ways out.

Either we can write down in README, like, for versions < 1.5 do

GOBREW_REGISTRY=<whatever-it-was> gobrew use 1.5

Second of course, add a condition in the code and pick the registry automatically.

I have not yet found where else I can download golang binary distributions. Therefore, this option is not available for now.

There is another option, when using output of remote versions, to simply not print those versions that we know are not in the source. Then the list of versions will match what we can provide using gobrew.
