Issues with stalled devices after 0.7 update (plus a fix) #89

Over the past day, I have been having issues with my motion sensors dropping off randomly. I run the 0.7 update hoping it would solve this issue.

After restarting all of the sensors eventually came back online, even triggered their automations. However after the initial state change, 5 out of 8 failed to ever change state again. Tried several restarts and/or reinstalls of the plugin. No change. Tried re-pairing (no removal) which has worked in the past. No change.

Then I noticed that I was not getting a notification light for motion events on these IR sensors.

The Fix Not sure if there is another way to do this or not, but the fix for me was to remove the battery from the sensor, wait about 60 seconds, plug it back in and then run the pairing procedure again. This notified me that new sensor was connected, no need to re-name device id as the old device id was already applied.

When this happens for me (about once a week all my sensors {14 of them} will just give up) I have found that if I go to the integration, uninstall it, leave me config in place, don't reboot, and reinstall it, then reboot, everything picks right back up. hoping the owner of this repo can resolve some of these issues, that or someone hopefully picks up where they left off.

I'd be curious if this occurs when used with the camera as a hub. I've seen similar behavior with the contact sensors, but have tracked that down to a bad battery (the battery level sensors are these are kind of junk)
