User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X 10.5; en-US; rv:1.9b5) Gecko/2008032619 Firefox/3.0b5 Build Identifier: Thunderbird 2.0.0.12 with Lightening 0.8 build 2008033121

When the network calendar service is unavailable no error or status messages are provided and calendar remains totally blank.

Would be good to replicate the types of status messages provided in Thunderbird specifically for Lightning.

In my situation - the network calendar just happened to be down at the time I was installing Lightning and I thought I was having installatin/configuration issues.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce: 1.Pick a time when calendar server service is unavailable 2.Open Thunderbird/Lightning 3.Attempt to see Network Calendar Actual Results:
Calendar appears blank with no error messages displayed

Expected Results:
Software should have returned an error message indicating that there was difficulty connecting with the network calendar service and to either check configuration or check with calendar service provider to make sure service is operational

Although I only occasionally experience this, it's occurring => confirmed.

This also happens with ICS files over FTP on Ubuntu Lucid Lynx and Windows 7.

The ICS bug should be fixed in 1.0b4, the wcap part is not blocking 1.0
