Hello,
I would really enjoy it if it was possible to hide the menu bar icon!
Thanks in advance,
Dave

You should be able to turn off the system tray in your DE or WM settings on Linux.

@heronhaye I am also trying to disable the keybase icon in the system tray on Linux, how can you do this? I don't see an option to disable in the app itself and I am not sure where to disable it outside of the app. Thanks

In macOS it's still a problem as of Version 5.7.0, there is no option to hide/disable the keybase icon in the menu bar. Given that this issue is open for more than a year, is this non-trivial to implement?

I think that after the acquisition by Zoom, Keybase is basically dead. It's really nice that they're continuing to maintain all the infrastructure rather than killing it entirely, but even in their own announcement they more or less said "yeah, the Keybase team is going to build encryption for our video chat product, not Keybase" https://blog.zoom.us/zoom-acquires-keybase-and-announces-goal-of-developing-the-most-broadly-used-enterprise-end-to-end-encryption-offering/ so they were not misrepresenting the state of things.
