Receiving Android notifications even though unsubscribed #18560

In Settings->Notifications I've enabled "Unsubscribe me from all push notifications" on my Android app. Nevertheless I always receive notifications from personal chats and the team channels I am in.

System information:

Keybase 4.2.0
Android 8

Not a Keybase issue as much as an Android issue. To turn of notifications entirely in an app is a function of Android itself. Within your phones settings are Notifications or Apps and Notifications. Keybase will be there and you can uncheck notifications. Or you can long press a notification (depending on Android version) for a shortcut to the menu.

I don't agree. This is a keybase issue. Reasons:

This is a bug. "Unsubscribe me from all push notifications" does not do what it says it will do.
Most people use the apps, not the Android settings. It is not user friendly to force the user to do app settings outside of the app.
Keybase notification settings can be much more flexible than standard on/off. See the Telegram settings for example. You can turn on/off settings for all groups/channels/private chats and add exceptions.
