MacOSX Client Crashing #22151

Unable to start on Mac for 2 days now. Attempted reinstall. Same issue, simply crashes on start. Hopefully something in here can help?

Urg, sorry about this. Can you try killall keybase from the terminal and then try to start the app again?

No problem, appreciate the quick reply! Here are my results: derek@MacBook-Pro ~ % killall keybase No matching processes belonging to you were found derek@MacBook-Pro ~ % sudo killall keybase Password: No matching processes were found

ok, what do you mean by "crashing"?

App app startup, white screen for window appears, then app crashes - no interface ever produced. For a while I was getting Mac crash reports and option to "reopen" but now not even getting those.

seems like the electron process is crashing. i'll ask around, we haven't heard any other complaints like this one. anything weird about your machine, are other apps crashing?

Thanks so much. Nothing special - has been working great. No new apps or updates applied recently. Visual Studio Code (also Electron) works just fine.

Definitely something with good ol Electron - I can start keybase service & and then interact with CLI...

Start the service and then run this from the CLI:

/Applications/Keybase.app/Contents/SharedSupport/bin/keybase

restarted and also did a cold shut down to no avail :( so strange!
