I just upgraded a machine from macOS 14.6 to 14.6.1. When it booted up after the upgrade, I got a pop-up error message talking about "device slots" not being available. I know I've encountered this before, and I remember there being a relatively simple way to work around it, but I don't remember off the top of my head what it was.
my log id: c59ec1b906248dd7b569e81c
DUH ... while I was typing this up on a second machine, I did another full reboot of the machine I had updated. Apparently doing a full reboot (i.e. →Restart...) was enough to resolve the issue.
Crisis averted, however it might be useful to include this in the documentation somewhere?
