Keybase on Android kills my battery #8533

I've just started trying Keybase in Android. While chatting my battery was losing 1 percentual point every 2min, while not chatting the battery usage was also high.

Now I believe making everything in the same app is not a good idea. There should be an app just for the chat, and you should thrive to make it as lean as WhatsApp and Riot. KBFS on Android should be another app and so on.

These are my humble thoughts and requests.

This doesn't happen to me, you should check if there are multiple processes running in the background

Actually, it isn't using any battery at all if I don't keep it open, which is a much better behavior than other IM apps, but it does use a lot of battery when I'm actively using the app. Maybe it is because encryption is resource-consuming? WhatsApp apparently does some encryption too, however, so there's probably room for improvement (or maybe WhatsApp isn't doing any encryption at all).
