(Disclaimer: joke incoming) I think they mean no privacy minded person would really have a multi-thousand dollar Apple Intelligence Collector with outdated hardware just laying around, let alone ready to put some damage on.
Perhaps the expense of step one will deter the majority, and they can move on to some other platform.
To be fair, there should be some kind of warning about using :eye:-ware OS from M$. Perhaps along the lines of now that you see what Keybase is, reformat the system and install Linux.

This seems unnecessary given common practice for download instructions, and is inconsistent to the other supported platforms which don't suggest to buy an Android Phone, iPhone, Linux or Windows PC beforehand.
