Big team channel names not displaying #4052

Channel names on big teams sometimes are displaying the hash symbol and then an empty line instead of the name of the channel. This affects some but not all users, and for users with multiple devices often only affects one of the devices. The channels otherwise work normally. There appears to be no pattern to this issue but it has affected more than one big team of which I have been a member/admin.

Just +1 to this issue. I'm running into it too, with channel names disappearing at varying rates across devices (e.g. my Mac shows all but one name, my PC shows about 50%, and my phone shows only about 5% of names). As far as I can tell, there's no way to find the name of the channel, either: the permalink to the channels not displaying names show up blank, too.

I think this is related to another issue where the max channel name length now has a limit of 16 characters. Our team has plenty of channels with names longer than this, so this seems like a recent change. I can edit the name of one of the blank channels to something shorter and then it shows up on all devices.
