MSI installer for AMD64 fails with error code 2755 #4231

I am trying to reinstall the Keybase Windows application, but the downloaded MSI is failing with an error code 2755 as shown.

Prior to this error occurring there is an error reporting, "The system cannot open the device or file specified".

OK, here's the outcome. It seems that my C:\Windows\Installer folder was actually a link to D:\Windows\Installer. The MSI was failing to install until I replaced the link with an actual folder. After doing that the software has installed correctly.
