Near-Future Lens not playing top card of deck #3874

I used "Near-Future Lens" to play the top card of my deck, but it didn't put the card in play and instead left it on top of my deck.

My opponent had played "Befuddled" and they named Mars as the only house I could play and the top card of my deck was a Mars "Brash Grabber", should I should have been able to play it (they also had a "Kaupe" in play, but I hadn't played any cards yet when I used my "Near-Future Lens".
