Option to deal cards in spider soiltaire other then using the trackball. #36

On a Motorola Droid the "Track Ball" is the d-pad that is only available
with the keyboard open. It would be nice to have some sort of on screen
button or the option to double/long tap the field to get a deal.

Nicely done, but Moto droid has no trackball. As noted, the keyboard can be
used, but
it would be nice to have an icon (face-down stack, say, as in other solitaire),
or
gesture to deal.

I agree, there is no point in playing the game if you cannot easily deal new
cards!

I agree! I hate having to play with the keyboard open or slide it open every
time I
want to deal. Either an icon or adding "deal" as a menu option is a must.

Yes. I either would like a draw/deal pile showing on screen (like in Klondike
game) or
a trackball button visible on screen instead of having to use the keyboard. I
don't
play the spider game because of this problem.

There is no trackball or keyboard on the Xperia X10 so there is no way to
deal. Dealing with a long tap or double tap would work.

The Samsung Vibrant doesn't have a slide out qwerty or trackball. No way to get
the onscreen qwerty to show up either. I love this game on my G1 - would love
to keep playing.

The new DroidX doesn't have a trackball or a keyboard. Can you give us a
button on the screen that deals the cards when touched? Perhaps near the timer
and deal counter? Right now this game is unplayable.

You can pull up the keyboard on the Evo by holding the menu button, but there's
no select button. Selecting anything is completely done with the touch screen.
Needs either a deck icon in the lower left corner (since lower right is already
occupied) and or a deal button in the menu. At least the icon but preferably
both a deck icon and a menu button.

Love the app otherwise! Thanks!

I've updated the app to that the search button deals the cards on all the
solitaire games. Did this so that I could deal the cards on my Galaxy S when
playing Spider. This is still the best version of Solitaire. Anyway, if you'd
like a copy of the app let me know: rockymount1@gmail.com I've got an e-mail
in to the Ken Magic (owner of this app) to make sure it is OK with him. If you
want to do it yourself, you can download the source code, install Java SDK and
Android SDK and compile it yourself. You then need to sign it with your own
key. Anyway, the line you need to change is in SolitaireView.java at line 520.

Change: case KeyEvent.KEYCODE_DPAD_CENTER:
To: case KeyEvent.KEYCODE_SEARCH:

I count 8 defects entered on this issue alone, but I see no indication that any
development is taking place.

As I stated, I have the app updated so send me an e-mail and I'll send it to
you.
Rockymount1@gmail.com. I don't want to publish this on the Market since it
costs me $25.00 to register. I e-mail Ken and he replied that he would post
the patch but I think he is very busy.

This is critical for those without physical select buttons. At least a button
in the menu, please.

This doesn't seem to work on the Samsung Epic, build SPH-D700 ECLAIR.DI18. The
search button seems to be some sort of system-wide shortcut to bring up a
Samsung search app, rather than being handled by the app.

There is no search button on the Sony Ericsson X10 either (long hold of menu
button brings up the keyboard) so Spider is still unplayable on the X10. Please
advise as I'm addicted to the other games!

As stated before, use "Solitaire NG" from the market.

It's a maintained update of this version with a "Deal" entry in the menu.
